Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, I've been fishing basically all my life. From the early days of anticipating trips with my dad, I've fished in the maritimes mainly for speckle trout, perch, mackerel, and salmon. Having moved to Ontario in 1993, I began to experience more fresh water fishing and an abundance of species to target, not to mention the many bodies of water with "adventure" just screaming at me. In 2002 I partnered with Fishhawk and began the initiative of growing and expanding Fish-Hawk.Net. Now with thousands of members from all over, support from our local retailers through advertising and sponsorship, as well as partnering with wholesalers and manufacturers to provide product and great messages, Fish-Hawk.Net continues to grow.

Captain Pat DeFazio - "Come 'n' get 'em."

The captain of the 'Fishing Just for Kids' charter boat is Patrick DeFazio of Ottawa, Ontario. Captain Pat has loved fishing since he was a child and has been an avid fisherman for most of his adult life. Now, he wants to share this wonderful sport with the families of region, as well as visitors to the Nation's Capital.

He has been a professional fishing guide on Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River for the past 10 years. Over the years, Pat has appeared on sports TV shows in Ottawa and PBS in Watertown, NY. See Page 3 of his Photo Album.

Eben "U.G." Yusso (born June 23, 1991) better known by his stage name U.G. or UnderGround, is a Canadian musician residing Ottawa.

U.G. was born Eben Yusso on June 23, 1991, in Bulgaria, Europe. Born of Ghanian descent. He then moved to Montreal where he lived for a couple of years before moving to Ottawa where he currently persues music.

He achieved recognition after putting out multiple amounts of mixtapes since September 2009. Since then he has gone to produce many music viedos, online webisodes, and release more mixtapes.

Minnow Race

With the help of a volunteer, pick your own minnow from the well. Once the race starts, use a straw to blow air behind the minnow to encourage the minnow to move forward. The first minnow to cross the finish line wins a prize.

Fish Pool

A similar pool to this one will be at the event where kids can fish. A bamboo rod with corn will be use to try and catch one of dozens of Tilapia. The catch maybe taken home for a additional $5.00.

Skill Casting Contest

The contestant will stand at the shore line of the casting pond and cast to sink the lure into different targets stationed in the water at various distances.
Points will be awarded when the contestant sinks the lure into a targets. Every target has a point value based on its location on the pond. The closest target to shore is one point, the next closest is two points, etc. The furthest target away is worth 10 points. All participants have to be 12 years and older.
A scorekeeper will track of the highest score.
The contestant with the highest score at the end of the 2 day festival will be awarded with a $100 gift certificate from Sails.

Fish Golf

This game is very similar to golf, but spin casting rigs and casting plugs are used in place of golf clubs and balls.
Participants “cast off” from a tee marker. Instead of reeling the plug back to themselves, they walk toward the plug as they reel.
They cast again from this point and head for the “Marker” where the golf cup is replaced by a bowl. Participants cast until they land their plug into the bowl. Score is kept by counting each cast as a point and the low score for the course wins. Courses will be 4 “holes”, participants can compete in groups of four. Participants have to be 12 years and older.
A scorekeeper will track of the lowest score.
The contestant with the lowest score at the end of the 2 day festival will be awarded with a $100 gift certificate from Sails.

Wrecking Ball: Four players enter the demolition zone but only one will be left standing. Players stand on wiggly inflatable platforms and hurl the big foam wrecking ball that hangs from the roof at each other. They will eventually lose their balance and fall off until just one is left stand –The Winner!
